Production
Many of the songs on “Americanachronism” were already written when “Hope and a Hand Grenade” was produced, but I didn't have the budget at the time to make a full length album. SO. When it came time to make physical copies, I seized the opportunity to put all the songs together as a double EP.
Hope and a Hand Grenade
Produced by Jeremy Gillespie during 2018. HHG is the last (for now) EP to feature my long time drummer Corby Hewson. It should be said that Jeremy and Corby are two of my dearest friends and are very much like family to me, so that EP was incredibly fun to make. Jeremy played guitar, produced, engineered and mixed the entire EP and also played bass on “Boots Worn Through." Rounding out the sound was Caitlin Grey (Hooray for the Riff Raff) on bass and Peter Horn (Counterfeit Arcade) on violin/viola. Kim Rosen rounded things out with mastering.
Americanachronism
This EP was produced entirely during peak covid. Jeremy Gillespie produced, engineered, mixed and played all of the instruments other than keyboards and bass (Caitlin Grey) at his home studio. Given the circumstances, we took a much smaller scale production approach on this recordings, which I think served the folk sensibilities of the songs. Kim Rosen took care of the mastering on this as well.
