Premiering Songs From My Musical,The Ninth Hour, on 7/19

Join Kate Douglas and Shayfer James for the debut performance of songs from their new musical,
"The Ninth Hour" at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2
196 Allen St.  NYC
Tuesday, July 19th at 8pm.
No cover charge.

The Ninth Hour centers on one of the oldest tales of good versus evil - Beowulf and Grendel - in a modern, intimate retelling featuring a rock/pop score infused with theatrical folk story-telling. The piece explores how heroes and villains are made and unmade and how evil deeds are often done by those who truly believe they are on the right side of history. Through reimagined, classic archetypes The Ninth Hour asks, if "light" and "dark" are opposites, or different expressions of personal conviction, belief, and perspective.

June 3rd:A Concert Benefitting York Street Project, Jersey City

On June 3rd,  I will be performing many of the songs from the "March of Crows" project at The Citizen in Jersey City.
50% of the door will go to benefit York Street Project, a local charity that is focused on empowering women in need.
The performance will feature 21 songs, from both MOC and my other releases.  Additionaly, the artwork that originally inspired the MOC songs will be projected during the performance.  In the spirit of keeping this project truly local, I'll be performing alongside only Jersey City musicians.

Johnny Mercer Writer's Colony at Goodspeed Musicals

It an honor to have been selected as one of only 40 writers to take part in this amazing opportunity.
For the last year, my co-conspirator Kate Douglas and I have been writing a musical.  The details shall remain
mysterious for now, but we were invited to spend a week with theater professionals and other writers to workshop, revise, and build
our concept.  Learn all about the colony HERE.

Red Room Vol. 2 and Haunted Things

I recently decided that before I release the full production EP, "Haunted Things" (in progress), that it is esssential for me to release another collection of songs.
I had been neglecting a specific creative time during which I disassembled love and life as I knew it.  I will record "Red Room Vol. 2" on November 9th.  The songs will be tracked piano/vocal live takes, and I will then bang on various items and hoot and holler a bit.  This will be raw and unkempt.  I will release it on November 19th. "Red Room Vol 2" sales will serve to raise funds for "Haunted Things",  a collection of songs I wrote during reassembly over the last year.   I look forward to sharing these stories with you.  See you sooner.
